Children at New Cangle are introduced to different languages in Early Years where they learn greetings in different languages. In KS1 there is a focus on learning French through stories at different times throughout the year.
KS2 have weekly French lessons which are based on the National Curriculum Programme of Study for Languages. The children are taught Oracy (speaking and listening), Literacy (reading and writing), Knowledge about Language (Grammar), Language Learning Strategies and Intercultural Understanding.
