Curriculum Overview

Our curriculum is based on the principles of Immersive Learning.  We are working with EOS school partnerships and Carl Jarvis in an effort to engage with pupils instinct, motivation and enthuse them with a passion for learning.

In Early Years, we use a combination of Letters and Sounds; Read, Write, Inc and Jolly Phonics.

In KS1, we use Letters and Sounds for phonics.

Our main reading scheme is Oxford Reading Tree.

New Cangle follows the National Curriculum 2014. If you would like further information, please click the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-curriculum-in-england-primary-curriculum

Each term’s topic begins with a question and culminates in a REAL event, where the children’s work is displayed for an authentic audience. This makes children’s learning purposeful.
